Glitter Toes

Last week I got "Glitter Toes" at LaVilla Salon in Lehi. I had heard about them on Good Things Utah, and then my sister called and said she got them and was loving them, so I thought I had better get some!! They are SO dang cute! It cost $25 dollars and the best part is, they last 4-8 weeks. So for all of you who need a pedicure or just want cute toes, call and make an appointment (766-2300). Have fun!!

3rd Place!

So I got a flyer in the mail for a baby contest, and of course I just had to enter Alli in it! It was called the "Pony Express Days" Baby contest in Eagle Mountain. Last week they called and said she made it into the top ten from her photo and that I would need to come in and have her judged in person. So this morning I took her down to be judged. The theme was Boot scoot n' boogie, so I bought her some cute little pink cowboy boots that are SO adorable! I love them! A few hours later, they called and said she took third in her age division!! Yay for Alli! She got a nice gift basket with lots of toys and cute things for her and a couple things for me. I was acutally surprised she even placed because she was not smiling at all, she was just staring at the judges the whole time. I guess it was the cute outfit that won them over, haha! No I'm kidding, she's cute no matter what she wears! Anyway, here she is in her cute little boots! CONGRATS ALLI, you did so good!

For Memorial weekend Josh and I went to Las Vegas! I heard about this little vacation package on the radio where you get 3 nights and 4 days at a resort, two tickets to a comedy show and $200 dollars in slots all for free! The only thing is, you have to go to a two hour "sales pitch" on buying a vacation timeshare but you are NOT obligated to buy. I thought it sounded kinda fun, so I and booked us a trip! We've never done anything like this so we thought we would give it a try. We actually stayed 2 nights and 3 days because we figured 3 nights was too long to be away from Alli since she's only seven months. My Mom and Dad were so generous to watch Alli for us while we went on our trip. We got there Saturday afternoon and came home Monday afternoon. We stayed at the Alexis Park Resort.
During our stay we went to the Tony V comedy show, Josh did quite a bit of gambling, I went shopping, we walked the strip, ate at some good restaurants, attempted to lay out (it was too cold for me) and celebrated Josh's 29Th Birthday...he's an old man!! We had a lot of fun. Oh, and the two hour presentation went by really fast! I thought it would be very high pressure but it wasn't at all. It was a fun quick trip and the traffic was surprisingly good. We were really anxious to get back to Alli, we always miss her so much when we're away. My parents said she was such a good baby the whole time. I'm pretty sure she's the best baby on the planet =)

Sitting Up

Alli is now sitting up. She's been working on it for about a month now but now she can sit up for a few minutes all by herself. She's getting so strong! She also has one tooth on the bottom gum. It's barely out, but it's definitely there! I don't know how long it's been there, my neighbor was actually the one to notice it on Saturday. I never suspected she was getting any teeth because she didn't seem like she was in pain and she wasn't cranky at all, but I guess I should pay more attention! Here's a short video of her sitting up.

Clean Garage!

Yesterday we had a yard sale. It was our first yard sale since we've been married. We only made about a $100 dollars so I'm not sure if it was worth it, but hey that's a $100 more than what we started with right?! We actually got rid of a ton of stuff that was piled up in our garage. I have no idea how we even had that much stuff in the first place, but I'm glad to see it gone. I couldn't even park my car in there for months, but now it's all cleaned out and organized. I mean we still have a lot of stuff, but it's stuff that we actually use. This garage has been a work in progress...we've cleaned it out several times before, but somehow it always gets back to how it was! However this time we actually sold some stuff and took a trip to the DI. I'm hoping it will stay like this, it's SO nice to park my car in the garage!!

Today I was feeding Alli some sweet peas and she would NOT let me hold the spoon and feed her, SHE had to hold the spoon. So I decided to just let her have at it on her own. I gave her the spoon and put most of baby food on her little tray. This is what she looked like a minute later. What a mess!! So she probably didn't really eat a lot of it, but she sure had fun playing and splattering it EVERYWHERE! I guess I better get used to these messes because I'm sure there is plenty more to come!

Happy Mother's Day!

I just wanted to wish all the Mother's out there a Happy Mother's Day (yesterday)! You all deserve a big pat on the back. This is officially my First Mother's Day and I feel so blessed to be a Mother. It's been so much fun, and so rewarding. I love being a Mother and wife, and I'm so glad that I can stay home with my little Alli, she makes me so happy!

I'd rather be a mother than anyone on earth
Bringing up a child or two of unpretentious birth...
I'd rather tuck a little child all safe and sound in bed
Than twine a chain of diamonds about my carefree head.
I'd rather wash a smudgy face with round, bright, baby eyes
Than paint the pageantry of fame or walk among the wise.

Miss Independent!

Alli can now feed herself!! She can hold her bottle completely on her own. This is exciting for me because now I can do stuff while she eats. She's actually been trying to do this since she was about 4 months old, but she wasn't quite strong & coordinated enough...But now I think she's mastered it! She does get distracted sometimes and stops eating, so I have to remind her to keep going. Other than that, she does good. What a good little girl I have =)
