Christmas 2008

Christmas this year was great for our family! We had so much fun visiting both families, playing lots of games and eating a lot of yummy food! We really cashed in this year, especially Alli! She got lots of cute toys and clothes and Josh and I got some really nice stuff too. We're so lucky and blessed. I'm glad it's over though and ready to get back to normal life!

Holiday Recipe # 4

Last but not least...TWICE BAKED POTATOES!!

These are probably my all time favorite. I make them all throughout the year, but they're especially good for this time of year. My Mom usually makes these for either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day dinner. I love love love these kind of potatoes, but then again I love ALL potatoes!

Bake Large Potatoes and cool.
Slice Tops off and scoop out potatoe, and put into blender.
Add Butter, sour cream, onion (optional), milk, salt/pepper and cheese.
(There's not really a specific measurement for these ingredients, it's just to your taste.)I always put in generous amounts of butter, sour cream and cheese. Then scoop potatoe mixture back into potatoe skins. You can throw away the tops that were cut off.

Sprinkle Seasoning Salt and/or Paprika on top.

Put all potatoes in a large baking pan, then put back into oven to bake half hour or until cheese is melted.

Cutie Pie

Alli's hair is getting so long! She did so good posing for me for a side view of her hair. Posing is usually not a problem for her, she loves to get her picture taken! Can you see her wings on the side? I love it! She is such a cutie pie and SO funny, I just love her!

Holiday Recipe #3

Christmas Divinity

It's a little confusing, but it is DIVINE!!!!!

(FIRST MIXTURE)
1 C water
1 C light corn syrup
4 C sugar

Combine and bring to boil, stir constantly. Put lid on for 3 minutes to dissolve sugar crystals. Continue to boil to "soft ball" stage.

(EGG WHITE MIXTURE)
4 egg whites beaten

2 tsp vanilla
1 C chopped nuts (optional)

Then pour half of the egg white mixture into first mixture and beat constantly. Continue cooking remaining egg mixture to "hard crack" stage. Then pour over egg mixture until it looses its shine. Quickly fold in vanilla and nuts.
Can pour into cookie sheet to cut into squares, or drop like cookies on wax paper.

* I half this recipe because really big and it won't all fit in my blender.

Scrablog

So I found a website called scrapblog and it is SO awsome! I love it and now I am totally addicted. It's a free website where you can do digital scrapbooking and things like that, and the best part is that it's so easy. So far I've done four pages and it's so much fun. They have themed pages already made for you or you can design your own from scratch. Go check it out!

Family Time

This weekend my family all went through a session at the Timpanogas temple and then we had a family picture taken afterwards. My Mom has been wanting this for like two years, so we finally made it happen and she got her Christmas wish!
It was so nice to have all of us together as a family in the temple. I love going to the temple, but being there with your whole family makes it even better. Afterwards we all went to Chadder's for lunch.
The night before we celebrated my brother Brandon's 31st Birthday, and played a little guitar hero. What a great family I have, Love ya'll!

Holiday Recipe #1

I love all the food, treats and drinks that are made during the holidays, so I thought I would share some of my favorite Holiday Recipes! This one is called LIME SLUSH. My Mom makes this every Christmas Eve and I absolutely LOVE it.

Lime Slush

1 can of limeade—make according to can directions
8 cups water
3 cups sugar
Sprite or 7-Up

Combine sugar in water over low-medium heat until completely dissolved. Mix with prepared limeade, and pour into big container. Freeze overnight. (it depends on the freezer too~I always make it ahead of time so it has at least 24 hours to freeze) Take it out a couple of hours before serving to let it thaw a little bit. Chop up with spoon in punch bowl until slushy. Pour 7-Up/Sprite over and serve. You drop in some cherries and/or limes on top if you want too. Enjoy!
