I give up...

Okay so awhile ago I borrowed my Mom's bread maker machine because she never uses it anymore. I have tried FIVE times to make bread in it and I have failed every time!! What the heck? How am I ever supposed to make bread by hand when I can't even make it in a bread machine..WOW! I have never tried making bread by hand because it seems like so much work and it kind of intimidates me a little. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was so craving some nice warm homemade bread today too, ugh! Guess I'll just have to stick with Kneaders =)

So Embarrassing =(

20 Months

Alli turned 20 months yesterday. That is SO crazy to me! I say that every time, but it still just blows my mind! In just a few short months I will have a two year old and to be honest that scares me a little! She has been quite the handful lately but so much fun. Her leg is doing much better and it's only been a week and 3 days since her break. She no longer limps on it and she plays just like normal. It definitely hasn't slowed her down one bit, which is good!
She's started talking a lot more than she used to, and she has had some pretty big melt downs lately which I guess is typical at this age, but I hope she grows out of this phase soon! She also learned how to turn the door knob and get outside on her own now, so we have to watch her and always keep the door locked. I clean her earrings with a cotton ball and one day she went upstairs and got a cottonball, came back down and put it on my ear!! She is so funny and is such a quick learner. She makes us laugh everyday. Her laugh is SO funny when Daddy gets her going. She loves to help me unload the washer and dryer, she is a very good helper. She LOVES to play in the car and crank the music way loud and push all the buttons and pretend like she's driving. She loves playing at the park and cries everytime we have to leave. She loves any kind of ball, and likes to throw them and play catch. She finally likes popsicles...she did not like really cold things for a long time but just recently started to like them. We love you Alli!

Living Planet Aquariam

Today we went to The Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy. We have to find fun indoor activities to do since it has been raining practically the whole month of June! What's up with that anyway? We want the nice sunshine back!!!
Anyway, this place is not what we expected. It's pretty small and only took us about 20 minutes to walk through. You might as well just go to the zoo and see three times as much! Oh well, it was still fun..here's a few pics. Alli dropped our camera in the pool a few weeks ago, so in the mean time we are using our older camera until we get a new one so these pictures aren't the best.

I have some bad news to share... poor Alli broke her lower leg today. I feel SO bad and I feel like such a bad Mom. She was sitting up on the counter top this morning eating a piece of bread while I was doing the dishes. She somehow slipped and fell on the tile. She cried for about three minutes and then she seemed okay so I thought she was just fine. However, when I let her down to walk around she was really wobbly and then she began to limp pretty bad on her right leg so I knew something wasn't right. So I took her to the hospital, and come to find out after her x-ray, she did in fact break her leg. She has a bow fracture to her fibula in her lower leg. So sad. Luckily, that is not the supporting bone, it's a bone that's kind of on the side of the main bone. The doctor said she should be able to still walk on it and play but it might hurt her for a few days. She didn't have to get a cast or a splint, and he said it should be healed within four to six weeks. Most likely four weeks because children's bones heal a lot faster than adults. So cross your fingers that nothing else goes wrong with it and it can heal really fast.I'm going to give her lots of milk and be really careful with her and watch her like a hawk! Actually, they said the more she is able to stand and walk on it the faster it should heal. So NO MORE sitting on counter tops EVER again. Again, I feel like such a bad Mom because I could have prevented this by not letting her get up on the counter in the first place. Hopefully I'm not the first one that this has happened to. I guess all I can do is chalk this down as another lesson learned and be thankful it wasn't anything more serious.

From her X-Ray, you can see the small bone on the left. In the middle of that bone you can see that it's kind of bent- it should be straight, that's where the fracture is.

Albrecht Family Reunion

This weekend we went over to Bicknell for a small family reunion. It was good to see some people we haven't seen in a long time. Alli was in heaven at the playground and played for like four hours straight! Afterwards, our family went fishing at Donkey Reservoir on the Boulder Mountain. It was fun to get out and get some fresh mountain air! We love going down there and getting away from the city for a couple days. It's always fun being with family and getting to relax a little...

Josh and my brother Brandon were the master cooks at the Reunion. They cooked some great hot dogs and hamburgers for the kids and awesome steaks for the adults. Great job guys!

Fishing was freezing but fun. We caught a few very small fish and a couple okay ones. It was gorgeous up there. I guess it's worth the one hour bumpy ride that I complained about on the way up and the way back!!

Alli was such a happy girl on the way down and back home because we finally remembered to bring her DVD player this time, Ya!

So I was reading the down the Forbes list of “The Worlds Billionaires” which was featured on Yahoo. I came across #6, Karl Albrecht of Germany. He is the richest person in Germany with a net worth of $21.5 billion dollars. Hmm, I find that very interesting! My maiden name is Albrecht and my descent is from Germany. Maybe we’re somehow related? Maybe I should find out his address and write him a letter asking for a small donation of his billions of dollars?! I mean come people, he is 89 years old and probably going to die soon I’m sure. Oh and not only is there one Albrecht on the list, but TWO! Number nine on the list is 87 year old Theo Albrecht- also from Germany, worth $18.8 billion dollars. The least one of them could do is give me a million dollars since we are probably related somewhere along the lines right?!! Plus I would definitely put that money to very good use. Ha ha, just wishful thinking. But seriously, maybe I should contact one of them… or both =)

I finally did it...

Today my sister and I took Alli to get her ears pierced at Claire's in the mall. I've been wanting to do this for quite awhile now, and I finally worked up the guts to do it. I was so nervous, but she did SO GOOD and took it like a champ!! She looks so cute with them in! The first ear she was kind of just in shock and then she got really sad for a minute and had this sad little face. The second ear she only cried for a few seconds and then she was done. I was expecting way worse, so I'm so proud of her. I gave her some Tylenol and she is now taking a nap, so hopefully she can just sleep the pain away if there is any.

BEFORE: She was staring down the lady wondering what the heck was about to happen...

AFTER: So pretty!!!

Mondayt night TV Entertainment...

Tonight is some good TV entertainment which I'm really excited about!! It's the bachelorette of course which I love. I think Jillian is so cute and down to earth. Then, The Hills season finale is on tonight as well! It ends with Spencer and Heidi's wedding so that should be interesting. Also, I'm really excited, because I found out that for the next season which airs in September, Kristen Cavallari is going to replace Lauren.

I'm so happy about this- I love her!! I liked her on Laguna Beach and always wondered why she wasn't on the Hills. Yes I've watched faithfully every season of every year, all the way back from Laguna! I know it's kind of ridiculous isn't it, but I love it. Anyways, it will be interesting to see how Kristen portrays herself -I think she will bring a good change to the show. I'm glad that Lauren decided to move on, I think she is more than ready. Anyhow...I just love my Monday nights..haha!
