Big Girl Bed

We moved Alli into a her "big girl bed" a few days ago and she is adjusting so well! The first night we put her in it, she slept all through the night. I was a little worried that she would just play or jump on her bed all night long but she didn't, and I was so proud!

For now, we just put a mattress on the ground until she gets used to it, and then we will eventually put it on an actual bed with railings. We read her stories, say our prayers and then she puts her baby and owl to sleep, and then she knows it's time for her to go to sleep. She cries for about 5 minutes when we tuck her into bed and then she talks to herself and plays for about a half hour and then falls asleep.

Naps take her a little longer to fall asleep. Yesterday she was sideways on her bed, naked, with trashbags everywhere and book covers off a few of her books. She doesn't like to sleep IN the covers, just ON the covers in weird directions with her favorite "blankee." It will definitely take some time before she figures out the whole bed thing, but she is doing really good considering it's only been like two days.

We've already learned to put all her toys and anything else she might get into in the closet with the door shut. We just leave her a few books out and that's it. I can't believe she is in a big bed now...she is growing up so fast.

1st Black Friday Experience...

Well, I survived the biggest shopping day of the year! I'm proud to say that I did not get trampled by any of the crazies out there--I've heard stories, so I was a little skeptical =) I had made my lists before hand for all the different stores, so I was organized and ready to go.

I got up at 2:40 AM and headed to my first stop- Old Navy, which opened at 3 AM. I was only getting a couple things there so I got them and then realized that the line was SO long and I was so not going to wait just to get two things. So I went home, went online and ordered those two things. Paying the shipping fee was so worth it rather than standing in that super long line!

Next I went to Kohl's which opened at 4 AM. I got all the items I was looking for and then once again, HUGE line! So then I heard an employee say I could go to customer service and checkout IF I opened a Kohl's charge. I was not about to wait in the line that wrapped all around the store for miles, so or course I went to customer service. The lady told me that their system was being slow so I didn't have to open the Kohl's charge after all AND I still got the discount from it and 10$ off my purchase. So it ended up working out great, and I was only in the store for about 15 minutes!

Next I went to Target which opened at 5 AM. The line was ENORMOUS. It was all the way down the entire store, 5 stores down and wrapped around the corner. I got there about 4:45, so I waited for about 15 minutes. As soon as the doors opened the line moved really fast and I only had to get three things there. I went to customer service to checkout and the line was really short for once, Hallelujah!!!

Next I went to Walmart, which was crazy. It was the most crowded by far. I got there about 5:30 AM. It was kind of confusing because they have everything out on pallets in isles, but I managed to find everything but one thing. The lines were the worst here of any place. I waited for probably an hour and a half in line. Half way through, I debated whether or not to leave and buy everything online but I stuck it out and was so glad to get out of there.

Overall, it was a good first Black Friday shopping trip for me! I thought it was fun, but the only thing I didn't like was the lines to checkout. I wish I had VIP pass or something =) I think online is the way to go so you don't have to wait in those ridiculously long lines. Unless you have a big major item to buy or a ton of stuff I don't really think it's worth it. BUT, I did have fun and I can see why people are kind of addicted to it, so who knows I may be back next year! For now, I'm going to take a nap and then go to Costco. Happy Shopping!

Thankful

I hope everybody is having a Happy Thanksgiving! I just wanted to write down a few things that I'm thankful for...

I AM THANKFUL FOR

* A great husband who works very hard, makes me happy, is supportive and is also a great Dad.

* Our beautiful daughter Alli, who is always happy and fun to be around. She is the center of our world!

* Our home, cars, clothes, and food on the table. All the necessities, we are very blessed.

* Our jobs

* Both of our families who are always supportive and willing to help with anything. Also all the cute cousins, neices and nephews who make everything twice as fun.

* The gospel in our lives. It gives us meaning and purpose in life.

* Good health, you can't really do much without it.

*Technology. It makes everything so much easier and convenient. I can't imagine life without a computer or the internet.

* Mountains, I love going outside and seeing the tall mountains all year round. We love going for rides, enjoying the fresh air and going hunting of course!

* All four Seasons, it's nice to have a change and be able to experience them all. Even though I wish winter was a little shorter!

* Cell Phones, just because they're so convenient!

* Good neighbors and friends, who once again are always there to help us out on quick notice, whether it be for babysitting or a cup of sugar.

* Freedom, and those who have fought or are fighting for our country.

* The Holidays and this time of year in general to help us remember what's really important.

We are very grateful for everything we have and are blessed in so many ways.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Mouse in the House...

A couple days ago after Josh got home from work he was eating dinner and saw a mouse run from our pantry, stop, look around, and then run into the laundry room. GROSS! So I had him immediately set 3 traps, one in the pantry, on in the laundry room and another in the garage. The next morning we found it in the garage.

I lost my appetite as soon as he told me he saw the mouse because I can just picture it getting into all our food. So I threw away like 5 boxes of cereal and some chips because they are just sitting on the ground in our pantry and I just kept imagining that mouse in them! I don't even know if mice can climb up stuff, but it still made me feel better to throw the stuff away.

I'm so glad we caught the the little disgusting rodent, ugghhh...I hate mice!! Why does there have to be gross things in the world? Anyway, we still have the two other traps set just in case there is another one.

YUCK!!!

Little Diva!

I took Alli to Target for her 2 year old pictures on Halloween day, so i figured I would get a couple in her Halloween costume while we were there...so yes here are some more Halloween pictures! As if I didn't take enough on my own!
To be exact, she was actually 2 years and 12 days in these pics. Isn't she cute?! The photographer this time wasn't that great, but she managed to get a few good ones out of her =)

Some Fav's...

This is really random, but these are a few things I really like at the moment in no particular order. For some reason I like doing this...I've done a few posts like this in the past. Sorry if they bore you =)

Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush Lip Glosses. I always get emails for a free lip gloss so I have like 7 of them. My favorite so far is "I want candy."

Yoplait Whips Frozen..I especially love the vanilla(slightly thawed).

Clorox Toilet Bowl wands..my Mom introduced me to these and they are great! It's just a wand that connect to a little sponge at the end. When you're done cleaning your toilet then you just click a button and throw the sponge in the trash. I think it's especially nice with little kids around because they can't grab the nasty brushes and it's way less germs just sitting around in the open!

Target. Need i say more? I LOVE target. Especially the kids clothes, juniors/womens, shoes and home departments. I think it's really reasonably priced most of the time too.

Chocolate Mousse Hot Chocolate from Flour Girls & Dough Boys Bakery in American Fork. It has the BEST hot chocolate I have ever had! You just have to try it and then you will see what I'm talking about.
