So about a week ago I had a terrifying experience- my face got singed from lighting our BBQ!! My eyebrows, the hair around my face, eyelashes and even nose hairs....burnt to a crisp.  Ok so it wasn't that bad, but a lot of my hair was burnt to a crisp for real!  I've started the BBQ several times before this with no problems, but this this time I don't know what I was thinking.

I had turned the gas on and pushed the little ignition button and nothing happened, so I bent down, turned the gas on some more and while still staying bent down...not thinking obviously, I pushed the button again and BOOM! Seriously there was a fireball on my face it felt like. I jumped back about 5 feet, and immediately ran to the bathroom to check out the damage. My face felt hot, a lot of my hair was damaged around my face, my eyebrows and eyelashes were still intact...just way shorter and more sparse =(

Anyway, my face cooled down, but my left nostril did get burned. But it will heal and here's to hoping my hair can get healthy again, eyelashes can grow in longer and eyebrows grow back to where they were before. I take my eyebrows very seriously!! I know it could have been worse, so I'll consider myself lucky.

Sheesh! Be careful out there! Or just wait the extra ten minutes until your husband gets home from work and let him do the grilling yes?!

Our sweet Alli is SIX!! It seems like she was just a baby not too long ago and now she's in Kindergarten and getting so smart! I love looking  back at pictures through the years. I still can't believe she went from a serious dark hair chunker baby to such a skinny little blondie!

For her real birthday this year we were in Bicknell for the deer hunt. Poor girl had no choice since she was born on the opening day of the deer hunt- she will forever be the deer hunt baby. So between deer hunting outings we had some birthday cake and opened presents. She loved her "deer hunt" birthday cake!

Her favorite present by far...the flutterbye flying fairy!

Here's a few things I love about outgoing Alli:

She is extremely thoughtful. She will draw pictures for the bus driver, grandparents, take an apple to her teacher, or cookies to her friends. She's always thinking of others and it is the sweetest thing to watch!

She makes friends EVERYWHERE she goes! I think I've said this before but seriously she really does and it's incredible! She makes friends at every park, McDonalds, school, church, you name it. I mean they're not friends she stays in contact with, but for that half hour or hour they are friends!! I love to watch it.

She loves to go to school and loves to learn! I'm so grateful for this. It's never a hassle to go to school.

We just adore her and hope she's has a great year as a big six year old!
We love you Alli.

Fall Break Adventures

Our Fall break was great. We did a lot of sleeping in and relaxing, but we also went to a few places. First stop was the Children's Discovery Garden at Thanksgiving Point. We've been here a couple times before, but it had been awhile so we thought we would go check it out. It was freezing and we were the only ones there, but it was actually really nice to have it all to ourselves.  I love our little adventures together!

 Do you see little Haven?

Haven was obsessed with the purple flowers. She would not listen to me and kept pulling them out! But hey it's almost winter so they will be dying least that's what i kept telling myself.

Haven almost always carries some sort of doll or stuffed animal with her everywhere she goes. This time the Sing-a-ma-jig was the lucky one to get to come with us! =)

 Alli located a dead snail

Trying to balance

Oh, we also went to the Emporium after and looked at all the cute things- wanted to buy most of the store, then went to lunch at the Deli.

Next on the agenda....taking pictures of ourselves with the camera and timer. This was Alli's idea, and actually we did this before we left for Thanksgiving Point, but whatever.

Yes, she does have pink lipstick on and thinks she's 16.

Next stop a couple days later we met up with cousin Sophia at the Ogden Eccles Dinosaur Park. We had never been there before so this was a first for us! Once again, it was freezing!! It didn't seem to be a huge hit with the girls, but they still had fun and it was good to go somewhere new in a different town. Afterward, we went to lunch at the Pizza Factory. We had a great time!

It was beautiful though!
